Tips for Better Blogging for Your Business

Did you know that if your business has a high quality blog, it can attract up to 55 percent more web visitors and generate over 90 percent more inbound links? And the more often you publish excellent blog content, the more traffic and leads you can get. It's a known fact that businesses with 20 blog posts a month draw in five times more traffic and four times more leads than those who post less frequently. These figures translate to better business, of course!
It doesn't matter whether yours is a small-scale business or a huge corporation, blogging gives every business owner countless of benefits that you don't want to miss. But if there's one thing you have to know about business blogging, it's that it's not easy. It entails talent, creativity, organization, commitment, originality, knowledge, and expert writing skills to produce topnotch content that gets read.
So how do you build a better blog for your business? Here are 6 tips that have been proven worthy and effective in the industry.
Tip # 1 - Use a personalized tone
Don't sound like a robot. No one ever wants to read a blog that's stiff and stuffy. Instead, use a personalized tone and write as if you're writing to someone close to you. Keep it simple and don't use highfalutin words or business jargon that would alienate potential blog visitors.
Tip # 2 - Offer handy information
It's a common mistake for business owners to think that their blogs are platforms for advertisement. While there's nothing wrong to mention products and services once in a blue moon, doing it regularly will drive your readers and potential customers away. Instead of bombarding them with info on what you offer, provide helpful insights and tips on how to use your products and services more efficiently. Remember, they come to your blog to get help and not to know about your latest offerings.
Tip # 3 - Keep posts open-ended
Make your readers feel that you value their opinions. End each post with something like, "Did I miss out on anything? Please feel free to add more tips!" or "What are your thoughts about this matter?" or "So, what do you think?" When you do that, readers will be more enticed to share their thoughts about your posts and the blog will generate more traffic.
Tip # 4 - Don't write a novel
Internet users are known for their extremely short attention span. If you write a 10,000-word blog post, don't expect anyone's going to read that! Blog posts should only be 300 to 500 words. Anything longer should be broken down into several parts.
Tip # 5 - Make your posts reader friendly
How do you do this? Easy! Use bullet points (or numbers), keep paragraphs shorts, use an easy-to-read font (nothing to fancy please), use headings, and caption your photos.
Tip #6 - Be consistent
You have a lot in your hands, we know that. But for your business blog to be successful, you need to formulate a posting schedule that will make sure that you're able to post regularly. Your readers will be looking forward to your posts, and they'll get tired of waiting if you post once every three months, or sometimes, once a year.
